"Floating Bottle" is a one-of-a-kind vintage silver gelatin print created in the early 1990s. Suspended between reality and illusion, the image evokes the experimental spirit of Man Ray, transforming an everyday bottle into a mysterious, almost weightless object. Its rich tonal range and dreamlike composition celebrate the magic of analogue photography, where light, shadow, and chance can turn the familiar into the extraordinary.
Robert Bianchi has been a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome, and his work is exhibited and collected by museums around the world. The Museum of the City of New York purchased 28 images from his *West Side Highway* series; his work is also held by the Brooklyn Museum, Chrysler Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Bianchi was the first artist working in photography to receive a one-person exhibition at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, which was highly acclaimed in *The New York Times*. His work has toured with the Kinsey Institute and has recently been shown at Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art in New York. Additional solo exhibitions include Fotografie Forum International, Frankfurt; Valladolid Museum, Spain; Ken Damy Museum, Italy; ISSES Gallery, Kyoto; MoCHA, New York; the Alternative Museum; Ledel Gallery; Barbara Greene Gallery; Fotosphere Gallery; and Joel Soroka Gallery in Aspen, Colorado.
