Our communities are inextricably woven together into tapestries of environmental and social interests and influences. All of our structures, physical and psychological, are build by these interconnected collaborations. To politically divide the people of a community is to tear down the core of its structures and invite chaos.
I explore these interconnected spaces, and the possibilities for growth and renewal, in this mixed media collage. A rough grid supports an interwoven set of foundational blocks of fabric and paper, while layers of cork, wood, paper, faux suede, woven grass and papyrus papers reflect on our resulting social and architectural structures.
