What happens when birdsong gets mapped in 3D and then built by hand?
This large-scale mixed media artwork was inspired by a system developed by Lucio Arese of visualizing birdsong as 3D geometry. The moment I saw those abstract, structured forms I had to play with the concept as something you could feel.
Layered with acrylic paint, papyrus, crushed glass, wood veneers, cork, suede, faux leather, grass papers, and 12 miniature 2" painted panels hidden throughout for depth and discovery. Shapes cut from an antique musical score pop across the surface like a surround-sound mapping of chords.
This eclectic art lives at the intersection of chaos and structure, which feels pretty on-brand for right now. It's made for spaces where people think in systems, processes, and possibilities. Whether it's going in a home or office, this art sparks conversation. It's gallery wrapped and durably wired to easily hang.
