"Progress Pride We are Human" I was inspired to return to creating this painting a few months ago when President Trump took down “transgender” and “bisexual” from stonewall. I felt hurt and triggered when he did that 1.) because I am a transgender person and I identify as nonbinary and bisexual/pansexual, 2.) because he tried to eliminate all the hard work that millions of other transgender and bisexual people have done to make a positive impact for so many people. How he tried to erase our history and hard work was alarming, I felt called to return to this painting and complete this painting. I wanted the words HUMAN to be in the center in all Capital letters to indicate that transgender people are human beings that deserve to live their full lives as well as be respected for their gender identity. It was a last minute idea to make squares and follow the same pattern as the progress pride flag for the colors for the letters human. We are all human beings that deserve to live our full lives. I love how the colors to the letters flow with the painting as well as how the squares flow with the small circular stipples. I love how the final product turned out. This painting took 210 hours to complete! I hope you all live your lives to the fullest!
