From the "West Side Series" captured on view finder camera. When the road collapsed under a truck and had to be demolished and rebuilt, Manhattan's waterfront looked like a war zone. Robert would climb up the remaining structures and shoot for hours, almost falling several times.
Collected by the Brooklyn Museum and Museum of the City of New York. Bianchi’s work traces the evolving history of New York City, preserving the memory of the "Old New York" before the shiny, modern construction transformed the area.
